Michigan Academic Library Association - Event Information

Event Name:Web/UX and Critical Librarianship IGs Knowledge Share
Event Type(s):Interest Group Meetings/Events
Description:MiALA Web/UX and Critical Librarianship IGs present: Design Justice Knowledge Share
Inspired by the book Design Justice by Dr. Sasha Costanza-Chock, our two IGs are collaborating to explore the relationship between social justice and the design process through short, informal knowledge shares (3-5 minutes). “Design justice is an approach to design that is led by marginalized communities and that aims explicitly to challenge, rather than reproduce, structural inequalities.”
We’re asking folks to participate in one of the activities listed below before October 21, and then share your main takeaways back to the group. There are readings, events, workshops, self-directed courses, or you are welcome to share on anything else related to the topic that you find or you’ve worked on in the past. Sign up to share! You are also welcome to attend without presenting.
