The City of Louisville is now accepting applications for a Wastewater Intern. This position will work within our Public Works Department and support the Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Under supervision of the Wastewater Superintendent and/or plant operator, performs entry level work in the operation and minor maintenance of a wastewater treatment facility. Work involves on-the-job training in the duties of a wastewater treatment plant operator with the intent of increasing familiarization with the operations, terminology, and requirements of this career. The supervisor will provide training, coaching, and instruction about procedures and standards to be followed. Feedback will be provided during 6 month internship to note progress.

This internship will be offered at 40 hours per week starting June 10, 2024 and ending December 6, 2024.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent required.
Prefer currently enrolled college student or recent graduate with course work in mathematics, biology, chemistry, or technical training specializing in electrical or mechanical applications.
Higher education with an emphasis in water or wastewater is a plus.
