The City of Louisville is seeking applicants for the seasonal Water Treatment Plant Internship. Under supervision of the Water Treatment Plant Superintendent and/or plant operator, this role performs entry-level work in the operation and minor maintenance of a water treatment facility. Work involves on-the-job training in the duties of a water treatment plant operator with the aim of increasing familiarization with the operations, terminology, and requirements of this career. The supervisor will provide training, coaching, and instruction about operational procedures and standards. Feedback will be provided throughout the internship to note progress.

This seasonal intern position offers 40 hours per week with start on June 10, 2024 and end on December 6, 2024.

Qualifications:
Education, Training and Experience:

Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent required
Prefer currently enrolled college student with course work in mathematics, biology, chemistry, or technical training specializing in electrical or mechanical applications.
Higher education with an emphasis in water or wastewater is a plus
Special License, Registration, or Certificate Required:
All candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
Must possess a valid Colorado Driver License in good standing with no major violations.
