The Silver Spring Township Authority is presently accepting applications for Operator in Training. This individual is responsible for assisting in all facets of operating and maintaining the wastewater treatment facility and the sewer collection system. The candidate will be required to obtain a PA Class E Collection System license within one year of hire and a PA Class B wastewater operator license within 3 years of hire. The ability to take direction and work in a team environment as well as independently is essential in fulfilling the requirements of this position. Experience in wastewater facility operations is not necessary but will be preferred.

Qualifications:
Minimum requirements for application include the possession of a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Pennsylvania Driver License, and the ability to undertake and complete the responsibilities of the post both under direction and independently. Wages for this position are $21 to $23 per hour, depending on experience that is relevant or beneficial to this position.

The Silver Spring Township Authority (SSTA) provides sewer service to approximately 6200 residential properties and over 200 commercial businesses in Silver Spring Township, Cumberland County Pennsylvania. The SSTA operates a 1.2 MGD SBR facility, over 100 miles of sewer lines and 25 sewer pump stations.
