Details:
Performs lead work over HVAC Technicians engaged in the maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC equipment commonly used in a water recovery facility. Reports to the HVAC Supervisor. Occasional travel to the Hite treatment facility location.

Examples of Duties:

-Coordinates HVAC maintenance work with other maintenance crews (including contracted services) and staff personnel of other departments.
-Responsible for the leadership of work crews and work assignments when a supervisor is not present.
-Lead lower-level HVAC technicians in troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of industrial HVAC systems. Inspects the work completed by lower-level staff for completeness and accuracy and recommends corrections or remediation for errors.
-Maintain HVAC electrical and power control circuits up to 480v.
-Trains HVAC technicians on HVAC maintenance programs and best practices.
-Monitors HVAC systems and operations and ensures that routine preventative maintenance is performed according to established schedules.
-Checks, repairs, and/or replaces valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, cores, pipes, and other functional components of the systems.
-Requisitions parts and supplies and assists in the development of recommended inventory levels.
-Works with Strategy and Communication in the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives in the HVAC team and throughout the Maintenance department.
-Shares rotating on-call responsibilities with HVAC team
-Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
-Performs other duties as assigned.



Qualifications:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Knowledge of:
-HVAC Maintenance and Installation
-Building Automation Systems (BAS)
-General office processes and procedures
-Computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
-Safety practices in an industrial environment
-Knowledge of electronic theory, circuits, components, and material properties.
-Windows operating systems, MS Outlook, Word, Excel.

Skilled at:
-Performing HVAC maintenance, repair, and installations in an industrial environment.
-Employee training methods, processes, and procedures
-The use of materials, tools, parts, and equipment commonly used to maintain HVAC systems.
-Operation and maintenance of chilled and hot water systems.
-Industrial/Commercial HVAC Control Systems
-Building Automation Systems (BAS)
-Computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)

Ability to:
-Utilize continuous improvement methods and techniques to create workplace efficiencies
-Perform work in extreme environments with varying weather conditions.
-Effectively organize, coordinate, facilitate, and direct the work of others
-Assist in the training and development of HVAC technicians.
-Perform effectively in a collaborative team environment.
-Identify problems, craft effective solutions, good judgement.
-Operate lifting equipment such as boom and scissor lifts.
-Source needed parts for HVAC equipment
-Work varying shifts to meet business needs

Education

Graduation from high school or GED. Valid Driver’s License. CFC (EPA 608) certification. Boom and Scissor lift certification.
