Salary: $4,865.00 - $6,539.00 Monthly

Responsibilities:

--Serves as the primary lead in field reviews for the Compliance Monitoring Program.
--Coordinate and plan field operations for over 100 site visits per year across all regions in the state.
--Complete field data collections using data sheets/forms to determine compliance at an array of post-timber harvest locations statewide in accordance with Washington’s Forest Practice rules and permits.
--Gathers, organizes, and compiles monitoring data for analysis.
--Audits field work to ensure data are correctly and consistently collected.
--Assign field roles and lead Timber, Fish and Wildlife, and DNR staff at site visits.
--Participates in the review and development of protocols for operations in the Compliance Monitoring Program.
--Keep a current working knowledge of scientific techniques associated with monitoring natural resource environments.
--Communicates effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
--Participate in agency training, attending workshops and program meetings in natural resource monitoring and the Forest Practices Program.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:

--3 years of professional experience managing field data collection in a forest setting or natural resource management environment;
OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
--Ability to follow and interpret statutes/laws, rules, policies, and procedures.
--Experience analyzing and manipulating data in Microsoft software such as Excel, and Access; experience working with GIS mapping software.
--Experience managing multiple ongoing projects.
--Demonstrated commitment to fostering and supporting an environment that honors diversity, equity, inclusion, and environmental justice practices.
--Perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with applicable laws, regulations and public records retention and requests are followed.
