Primary Job Responsibilities:
• Engages in the installation, removal, troubleshooting, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical components such as pumps, motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), relays, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, and other equipment used in water and wastewater systems.
• Maintains and repairs electrical control equipment, lighting, telemetry systems, and mechanical components at treatment plants, lift stations, well sites, and throughout the water system.
• Participates in preventative and corrective maintenance of equipment, vehicles, and facilities. This includes working on structural repairs, conduit piping, and other facility upkeep tasks.
• Repairs, installs, and removes lighting fixtures, including ballasts and components.
• Performs troubleshooting on both mechanical and electrical issues in various equipment, providing reports on equipment conditions and recommending repairs, replacements, or improvements.
• Completes and maintains necessary documentation such as work orders, reporting major problems and ensuring stock levels of required tools and equipment.
• This position may require overtime, holidays, and weekends, and is subject to emergency response when needed.

Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED.
• A minimum of four years of experience in the electrical industry with supplementary experience in the mechanical field, focusing on pumps, motors, and electrical control systems. Training in PLCs, VFDs, and instrumentation is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, equipment manuals, and operating instructions.
• Must have completed or be willing to complete formal courses on VFDs, PLCs, and Instrumentation within one year of employment.
• Familiarity with using a voltmeter, amperage meter, winch, hoist, and other relevant tools for electrical and mechanical work.
• Completion of Lock Out/Tag Out and electrical safety training is required before employment.

• On-Call Duty Pay
o a full calendar week (5-7 days) is compensated at 10 hours straight time pay/week.
o a less than full calendar week (4 days or less) is compensated at 5 hours straight time pay/week.
• Increase of 5% for each higher level of certification obtained. An incentive of a $.50 per hour raise is given for each additional license obtained.
• Merit Increases of up to 5%.

Hiring Range
Pay ranges depend on certifications, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The range for this position is between $35.82 to $49.38 DOE.
Eligibility for a signing bonus
The successful candidate could be eligible for a hiring bonus of up to $5000. An initial $2500 payable upon the WWSD’s first regular payroll date following the start date and subject to all applicable tax reporting and withholding requirements. Once the successful candidate has completed the 90-day introductory period, they could be eligible for an additional $2500.
Successful candidates will complete pre-employment screening, which includes, but is not limited to a criminal background check, drug screen, and physical.
