The hiring range for this position is $68,468.47 - $85,585.58/annually

OVERVIEW OF POSITION / DEPARTMENT
This Water Conservation Specialist – Rebates and Education position is an exciting opportunity to engage in multiple levels of water conservation. This position develops and oversees rebate and educational programs. Daily interactions with Aurora Water customers requires exceptional customer service and communication skills. Develop leadership skills by managing daily tasks of one full-time employee. This is a full-time, 40 hour-per-week position with benefits. This position reports to the Water Conservation Supervisor.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Administers the toilet, water-wise landscape, and irrigation rebates
Monitors rebate program budget and tracks expenditures
Administers income qualified programs
Works with customers to address inquiries regarding rebates and related programs
Coordinates water conservation adult education program, including classes and events
Teaches conservation classes
Coordinates and attends events
Tracks rebate programs budget
Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, natural resources, education, or a related field
Experience:
Two years of experience in program management, rebate administration, or customer service
Experience in public speaking or informal education
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in conservation rebate and incentive programs
Experience with water-wise landscaping techniques
Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper certification or similar
Knowledge:
Knowledge of water conservation methodologies, regional water issues, water-wise landscape plants and irrigation systems
Skills:
Must exhibit strong customer service skills
Must exhibit strong organizational and professional communication skills
Must exhibit exceptional time management skills and be a self-starter
Abilities:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, customers, and colleagues
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to prepare non-technical reports and documents
Ability to make presentations to the public and other departments
Ability to manage a variety of projects at the same time
Licenses and Certifications Required:
Colorado driver’s license with a good driving history
WORKING CONDITIONS
Essential Personnel:
When a local announcement of emergency or disaster is declared by the City, all City of Aurora employees may be required to work as essential personnel.
Physical Demands:
Continuously performs sedentary work that involves moving no more than 10 pounds at a time with or without assistance
Infrequently performs light work that involves moving no more than 20 pounds at a time with or without assistance
Hand-eye and hand-foot coordination for operating a vehicle
Vision to read manuals; speech and hearing to communicate with employees and customers
Work Environment:
Works primarily in a clean, comfortable environment. Seasonal outdoor work in various weather conditions for teaching classes and assisting in events will be infrequently required
Equipment Used:
Uses standard office equipment including personal computer and common office software such as email, internet, Word, and Excel
Infrequently may operate tools, equipment, and vehicles common to landscape maintenance
This position may require the use of a personal equipment (e.g. vehicle, cell phone, etc.) in the course of employment
