We are looking to add a Field Maintenance Technician to our team. This role will perform work under general supervision of the Field Superintendent or Lead Field Technician and is responsible for complex preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance at water distribution and wastewater collection facilities, collectively called field sites. These sites include pump stations, lift stations, and well sites. Implements minor modification and improvement projects at field sites. Assists and provides training to the Field Technicians regarding system maintenance
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The following duties are an overview of the primary duties and responsibilities for this position and should not be considered an all-inclusive list.
• Performs minor and major inspection, maintenance and repair of water and wastewater related equipment. Including but not limited to pumps, motors, gear drives, monitoring equipment, compressors and HVAC units.
• Performs Authority improvement projects as assigned.
• Works with Field Operations Superintendent and or Lead Field Tech to identify areas of reliability concerns.
• Works with and schedules outside vendors or contractors.
• Provides recommendations to improve the efficiency of the Computerized
• Maintenance Management System, Preventive and Predictive Maintenance programs.
• Performs all types of Building maintenance at Authority’s facilities.
• Participates in repair and replacement programs, evaluates facility and equipment
condition and provides recommendations for reliability to the Field Operations Superintendent and or Lead Field Technician.
• Completes assigned work orders in a timely manner and as instructed.
• Observes, inspects and surveys physical facilities and ensures security.
• Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Computer knowledge including, but not limited to Microsoft products and CMMS software for tracking, scheduling and reporting maintenance tasks.
• Ability to read process flow diagrams and as-builts.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of welding and fabrication.
• Knowledge of high voltage electrical troubleshooting.
• Advanced knowledge of safety practices and rules such as lock-out tag out, confined space, chemical handling, use of air monitors and other relevant safety related equipment.
• Ability to use hand tools in an advanced manner and operate equipment.
• Knowledge of pumps, motors, basic water hydraulics and maintenance requirements.
• Preferred knowledge of Programmable Logis Controller (PLC) and Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) in operation and maintenance.
• The ability to operate light duty equipment used for maintenance purposes of the Authorities facilities is preferred.
EDUCATION:
High School graduation or GED equivalent required with mechanical trades training or certification or any combination of experience and training which would indicate possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities listed herein.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 3 years of water or wastewater maintenance experience or other mechanical/industrial/commercial maintenance or a combination of education and experience that would provide relevant knowledge and abilities will be considered.
Hiring range: $26.16-$31.41
In accordance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work act (SB 19-085) the approximate compensation range for this role is listed above. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors, such as knowledge, skills, and abilities.
