The Pinery Water and Wastewater District is seeking an experienced lead water operator to join the water team. The Pinery WWD is a water and wastewater service provider located in eastern Douglas County dedicated to providing \"Quality Water for LIFE\" to nearly 15,000 customers. Compensation depends upon qualifications; starting pay is targeted at between $24.50 - $42.50 per
hour. The Pinery WWD offers a comprehensive benefits package including a generous retirement saving
plan where employees are immediately eligible for an 10% employee contribution and an 9% company
match.

General job duties include but are not limited to:

- Provides excellent customer service and remains conscientious about public health and safety.
- Ensures that our treated water quality meets all State, Federal and Water Department standards.
- Monitors raw and treated water levels and flows through physical inspection and by analyzing electronic monitoring (SCADA) data. Oversee that proper dosage rates are maintained and conduct process control tests to ensure optimum system performance. Keeps records of water pumped, chemical used, and analytical tests performed. Interprets SCADA information, water quality / quantity data and makes the appropriate adjustments.
- Helps with the operations and record keeping of our WISE Water subscription and our augmentation plans.
- Maintains, inspects, troubleshoots, reports, and performs repairs of treatment equipment, buildings, fences, and grounds.
- Helps in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly reports of treatment water, wells, and chemical usage.
- Helps plan scheduled maintenance work and outages, orders chemicals and organizes equipment replacement to prevent outages to minimize downtime.
- Responds to questions, problems, and complaints about water quality.
- Actively participates in safety programs and ensures that the proper use of safety equipment and that safety procedures are followed.
- Ensures the cleanliness of assigned areas is maintained and that proper storage of equipment, chemicals and supplies is done.
- Fulfills \'on call\' requirements on a rotating basis - 30 minutes or less commute preferred.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required. Some overtime is expected.

Qualifications:
Candidate must:

- Prefer a degree from a college or university or have four to five years' experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Have the ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions and apply them to practical situations. Basic understanding of chemistry and working with/mixing chemicals and their reactions is helpful.
- Be detail-oriented with the ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to manage customer service situations
- Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in work products
- Observe all safety and security procedures for the protection of yourself, your crew, and the public
- Be familiar with and demonstrate the ability to use a Computerized Maintenance Management
System (CMMS) like Cartegraph or similar
- Have a valid Driver's License in good standing. May be required to obtain a valid Class B
Commercial Driver's License
- Have a State of Colorado - Class C Treatment Water Operator License. (Opportunity to become
Lead Water Operator once a Treatment A license is obtained.)
- Have a State of Colorado - Class 2 Distribution Operator License or the ability to obtain it in 6
months.
- Regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Pass random drug and alcohol testing
