This position serves as the chief of the NPDES Section within the Bureau of Clean Water. Responsibilities include managing a team of environmental engineers and facilitating the execution of statewide initiatives concerning the discharge of pollutants into surface waters. This encompasses discharges from sewage, industrial waste, industrial stormwater, pesticides, and agricultural operations, all in accordance with the Pennsylvania Clean Streams Law, the federal Clean Water Act, and the DEP\'s Chapter 92a regulations.

Qualifications:
Five years of professional engineering experience in environmental protection or in environmental project development, design or construction.

This position requires possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists or a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the applicable licensing body of another state. Successful candidates with an out of state Professional Engineer license will be required to produce a valid Professional Engineer license issued by Pennsylvania within their initial six month probationary period.

This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.

The position is telework eligible (3 days remote, 2 days in office). The position would report to DEP's Central Office in Harrisburg or DEP's Southeast Regional Office (Norristown), Northeast Regional Office (Wilkes-Barre), Northcentral Regional Office (Williamsport), or Southwest Regional Office (Pittsburgh) or a DEP district office associated with those regional offices.
