The mission of the Office of Planning, Assessment, and Institutional Research (OPAIR) is to provide timely, actionable data and analysis to support decision-making across the institution and fulfill external reporting requirements. Under the direction of the Manager of Institutional Reporting, the Institutional Research Analyst works independently to perform a wide variety of analytical support and projects utilizing specialized software. Assignments include tasks such as querying and analyzing data from institutional databases, providing statistical analysis of data or of survey results, compiling and submitting data to external requestors.

Position Duties

• Collect, organize, and analyze data related to various aspects of the college, including enrollment trends, student outcomes, and institutional effectiveness for external and internal reporting.
• Manage projects and maintain frequent communication with other departments to ensure alignment and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
• Utilize statistical methods and software to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
• Assist in the preparing of reports for internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, accreditation agencies, and government bodies.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data used in institutional reports and compliance documents.
• Collaborate with the OPAIR team to provide data-driven insights that support strategic planning initiatives.
• Stay informed about best practices in research design and methodology within the higher education sector.
• Proficiently use data management tools (i.e. Excel), statistical software, and reporting platforms (i.e. Pyramid) to facilitate efficient data analysis and reporting. 
• Explore new technologies and tools that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of institutional research processes.
• Performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Position Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with quantitative degree or extensive coursework in statistics preferred.
• At least one year of relevant experience in research design, data evaluation, or database management within the higher education sector preferred.
• Research design, data evaluation, and database management as applicable in higher education institutional research.
• Data extraction, query building, data validation and information reporting.
• Statistics, statistical applications, collection and correlation of data.
• Computer based management information systems, such as data warehousing and data cubes.
• Oral and written presentation techniques including methods of presenting data via multi-media and web publishing.

Work Hours

Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with additional hours as needed.
