Nofima, Norway, is recruiting a food-packaging scientist and PhD researchers
Norway’s Nofima research institute is seeking to recruit a scientist/senior scientist with responsibilities for sustainable food packaging and a PhD researcher into food-grade recycled plastics.

The scientist post is focused on the transition away from fossil-based plastics and the challenges with some of the alternative (including cellulose-based) materials – looking at issues with migration, poor barrier and other characteristics of these materials.

The position will be located at Nofima’s Department of Food Safety and Quality at Ås near Oslo.

One PhD (or post-doctoral) position, based in the same department in Ås, is a three-year role working on a project concerned with recycled plastics for food-contact packaging. Researchers will be affiliated to Nofima, while the PhD programme itself is run by the Norwegian University of the Lifesciences (NMBU).

An additional Norwegian-language PhD post is advertised investigating cellulose-based packaging materials.
