MSU partners with NextCycle Michigan Michigan State University (MSU) School of Packaging has formed a partnership with new local sustainability initiative NextCycle Michigan, which aims to maximize opportunities for developing recycling, recovery and other environmentally-driven businesses in the state. Welcoming the partnership, School of Packaging director Matt Daum underlined MSU’s commitment to solving recycling challenges using data-driven analysis and co-operation across the value chain. He said this meant that the two partners were well-aligned in terms of objectives and capabilities. “I’m hopeful the approach and solutions developed will become a model that scales nationally,” he added. Established just this year, NextCycle Michigan is a Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy initiative. It is described as an ‘idea incubator’, providing technical support, expert mentoring and resources. It is funded through a combination of state and private contributions. Published: 05/29/21 |
