As an Advanced Packaging Science and Sustainability Department Manager you will provide strategic direction and solutions on novel, sustainable and safe food & beverage packaging materials and emerging technologies.

A day in the life of an Advanced Packaging Science and Sustainability Department Manager

 
  • Develop and manage scientific strategy to address key fundamental challenges in novel food & beverage packaging solutions
  • Establish strong scientific alliances with key universities & partners to tackle these challenges
  • Identify and develop emerging technologies and packaging materials to drive next generations of sustainable packaging, contributing to the Nestlé Packaging Pledge, and Nestlé Climate Pledge
  • Develop and adapt science-based analytical strategies for the rapid characterization of novel, sustainable and safe packaging solutions
  • Identify opportunities for joint venture ensuring accelerated implementation of technical solutions
  • Lead, develop and coach a diverse team: Attract talents, lead and develop people into a high performing team to ensure competences availability and capacity in novel packaging research, packaging safety and sustainability
  • Execute project portfolio and manage related budget
     
What Will Make You Successful

 
  • PhD in the area of Packaging Material Science or Food Contact Materials
  • Experienced leader in R&D and/or academia with a strong scientific publication track record and a link to external companies
  • Scientific authority in the field of novel, sustainable and safe packaging material development, with emphasis on sustainable packaging
  • Excellent people management skills, capable of attracting talents, and develop team members into an inclusive and high performing team. Proven successful experience in leading groups of scientists and passion about coaching and developing people
  • Experience and successful achievements in developing and implementing complex research programs
  • Competence in science based technical solutions related to sustainable food packaging
  • Strong networking and management abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English, German and French an asset)
