Lansmont acquired by PPT Group

Lansmont Corporation, headquartered in Monterey, California, has been acquired by the Physical Properties Testers (PPT) Group, an international business encompassing producers of testing and quality control equipment such as Alluris, James Heal and Mecmesin.

One of the global leaders in shock- and vibration-measurement systems and monitoring instrumentation, Lansmont has served an international clientele of businesses, government laboratories and educational institutions since 1971.

John Page, MD of PPT Group, sees Lansmont as “the perfect fit” for the group, sharing synergies in terms of end markets and ranges which complement, rather than compete against, those of sister companies.

“Lansmont is strong in North America, where the PPT Group sees significant growth potential, while Lansmont will benefit from the strong EMEA and APAC sales and marketing infrastructure that has been the core of the PPT Group business for many years,” he predicts.

The business of the new group member falls into two areas: vibration-, shock-, compression-, drop- and impact-testing equipment for quality control; and a range of field-to-lab monitoring instruments.

PPT is enthusiastic about Lansmont’s “exceptional heritage” and strong track record in core markets, including  packaging/transportation, aerospace, defence, automotive, civil engineering and medical.

Since its creation 50 years ago, as PPT explains, engineers around the world have relied on Lansmont technology to discover product vulnerabilities, design optimized protective packaging, and ultimately find the perfect balance between a product’s intended environment and its durability.
