Event Description

The Region 5 PFCE 4.5 Institute will bridge the gap between the awareness of the Head Start PFCE Framework and actual on-the-ground implementation. The goal is to help early childhood development staff build and execute the programs and structures necessary to achieve intended outcomes for children and families.

Lead Facilitator: Brandi Black Thacker, National Center for Parent, Family and Community Engagement.

Wednesday, January 15 - 10:00 am to 4:30 pm (lunch included)
Thursday, January 16 - 9:00 am to 4:30 pm (lunch included)
Friday, January 17 - 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

By the end of the session participants will be able to:
  1. Connect program planning, school readiness, the Head Start Parent, Family, and Community Engagement (PFCE) Framework, and the provision of family and community engagement program services within the five year project period.
  2. Identify or confirm quantifiable ways to assess a family’s strengths and needs, and review progress toward goals and outcomes.
  3. Identify and prioritize program goals and see how multiple sources of information support this process.
  4. Use the Relationship-Based Competencies (RBCs) as a frame to discuss their management systems and also have the opportunity to apply the knowledge, skills, and practices to multiple roles and services within their program.
