Kansas Speech-Language-Hearing Association - Event Information

Event Name:Current Concepts in Concussion Management: Virtual Conference
Description:
Join us as our multidisciplinary concussion management experts present a comprehensive, team-based approach to diagnosis and treatment in acute and follow-up concussion management. This program is designed for all members of the treatment team involved in the assessment and management of concussion, including physicians, nurses, athletic trainers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech and audiology experts, and behavioral and mental health providers.

Experts will present a patient-centered approach to the diagnosis and management of acute injury and postconcussion symptoms. Building on last year’s team-based care strategies, this 1-day conference will highlight the critical nature of individualized care, taking into consideration all aspects of patients’ health and well-being.

The team will explore the use of a multitherapeutic approach and discuss how it can lead to successful symptom resolution and improved patient outcomes. Specialists in the areas of neurology, physical, occupational, speech, audiology, and vestibular therapies, mental health, neuropsychology, nutrition and sleep medicine all contribute to this integrated approach to patient care.
