In an effort to encourage infill residential development in the Old Town area, and understanding the hurdles often associated with the permit process, the City of Clovis has developed several “Cottage Home” plans that may be utilized on properties with alley access. These accessory dwelling unit (ADU) home plans (of approximately 400 square feet of livable space) are intended to orient onto alleys and provide for a unique pedestrian street environment while revitalizing the alleys and creating more housing in the City.
Come join us as we take ride on the Clovis Old Town Trolley with Clovis planning staff as they lead you on a tour highlighting examples of the three plans Clovis offers under the National APA Award-Winning Cottage Home Program free of charge to homeowners who meet the requirements for a cottage home, as well as reflect on some of the successes and challenges of the program.
The event will begin promptly at the City of Clovis Council Chamber (1033 Fifth Street) at 5:30 pm with a short introduction to the cottage home program, followed by an approximately 30 to 45 minute tour showcasing some cottage homes.
Once the tour is complete, there is an optional happy hour at House of JuJu (565 Pollasky Ave) in Old Town Clovis, where you will be provided a complimentary drink ticket, appetizers and the opportunity to mingle with some colleagues and friends.
Due to the capacity of the trolley, this event is limited strictly to 25 participants, so be sure to sign up fast!
