Community Air Protection Program - Assembly Bill (AB) 617 and CEQA
Date/Time
8/30/2018 11:30am - 1:00pm
Event Description
Assembly Bill 617 (Cristina Garcia) passed in September 2017 requires the California Air Resources Board and air districts to develop and implement additional emissions reporting, monitoring, and reduction plans and measures in an effort to reduce air pollution exposure in impacted communities.
The legislation sets out an ambitious implementation schedule, and the California Air Resources Board must set the overall direction of the program by October 1, 2018. The local air districts also have specific roles and responsibilities and successful implementation will require strong collaboration.
The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District is actively participating, and facilitating input by Valley residents.
Join us at this workshop to hear an overview of AB 617 and the District’s role in the process with a focus on CEQA and land use.
