Craft breweries are relatively small breweries that produce from less than 500 barrels per annum to as much as 15,000 barrels per annum. They use the fermentation of starches or of sugars to produce alcohol or alcoholic beverages. Craft breweries include Craft Brewery, Micro Brewery, Nano Brewery, Pico Brewery, and Brew Pub. The typical process is described in detail from milling the grain to brewing to packaging. The origin and characteristics of Craft Brewery wastewater will be discussed along with pollution prevention measures and wastewater treatment options.
