Guest Panelists: Ferhina Ali, MD, MPH; Hardeep Dhindsa, MD; Arshad Khanani, MD, MA; Wendy Shieh, MD Q&A Panel with subspecialty ophthalmology panels in Northern Nevada
Join us to discuss how to enhance and refine the referral process between optometry and subspecialty ophthalmology. This week we are focusing on surgical retina.
Patients with significant ocular pathology often have outcomes that are dependent on timely and efficient referrals to subspecialty offices. As a result, these offices are very busy and therefore it is important to work closely with these subspecialty ophthalmology groups to make sure that they receive referrals in the best way possible.
This will be an open forum discussion with members of the optometric community and sub-specialty ophthalmologists to discuss the following type of topics:
What are the most common opportunities for ODs who refer to your clinic?
Which conditions are typically referred to you too early or late?
Of the most common referred conditions, are there particular time frames for referral that you recommend?
What is your preferred way to be contacted regarding questions about management of urgent referrals?
Are there any management strategies you recommend for referrals prior to the patients arriving in your clinic?
Are there any updates within your sub-specialty that you would like to share? Are you recruiting for any studies? New treatment options?
This isn't another PowerPoint or Case Presentation webinar but rather a Q&A panel discussion where all participants are encouraged to interact.
The discussion will last between 60-90 minutes. Come with your most pressing questions.
The goal is to have open, meaningful dialogue and conversations, build relationships between Optometry and Ophthalmology, and better enhance care for patients who face the most vision-threatening conditions.
The ophthalmology panels are very excited to make this happen!
