Rocky Mountain Water Environment Association - Event Information

Event Name:RMWEA Collections COVID Panel Webinar
Event Type(s):Meeting
Description:The 2020 COVID-19 pandemic forced South Platte Renew (SPR), Metro Wastewater Reclamation District (The District) and the City of Greeley (City) to make some major adjustments in staffing, coordination of projects, and analyses for process control in order to react quickly.  In late March, these three utilities elected to join a limited wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) study conducted by Biobot, a small Biotech startup in Massachusetts.  This panel discussion will share their journey and insights of how to test for COVID-19 and how this information is used in addressing the pandemic.   This effort eventually evolved into the Front Range Colorado Collaborative group and continues to collect data from all participating utilities which is available for viewing on a public dashboard.  The Colorado Department of Public Health and local public health epidemiologists analyze the results to help understand potential trends for COVID cases in these communities.
