Event Description
This event will bring together the professionals who provide services for families with children who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing to examine the emotional journey of those families and the emotional impact it has on professionals over time. The overall purpose is to bring about a deeper understanding of the emotional journey that begins for these families after receiving an unexpected diagnosis and how it continues over the lifespan. Professionals will gain a deeper sensitivity of the emotional journey and how to change their own culture of communication from a medical/clinical/educational perspective.

Cost:
$40 for professionals
$10 for students
$10* for family members of a child with hearing loss
*family members with financial need can email askkdhh@gmail.com to request a scholarship to attend for free
***add $10 if registering after April 16
CEUs:
Approved for up to 0.6 ASHA CEUs
