Driver Safety and Professionalism 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Doug Palmer, Transportation Consultant, Ohio School Boards Association
School transportation is a demanding service, the only logistic system that provides two on-time deliveries per day, each one at a specified location. The drivers must maintain the highest level of professionalism for all, parents, communities, schools, and the children transported. We will examine the needed skills and the discipline required to focus our thoughts and attention to sustain the exemplary safety record of school bus transportation. (Safety Procedures, Pupil Management, Public and Staff Relations)
Lunch Break 12:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The Power of Connection 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Patrick Mulick, Teacher and Behavior Analyst If we want our students to be at their best we must do our best to ensure they feel welcome each and every day. When trust is established and the students feel safe, they are then empowered to have a successful ride. Board Certified Behavior Analyst Patrick Mulick will discuss the small things transportation staff can do to connect with their riders each day. He will then link how this connection can lead to greater compliance as your work to support positive behavior on the bus.
