Event Name:Legislative Day Part 1: Unite for Virtual Advocacy
Description:Course Description: 
This virtual session will describe the relationship between our licensing agency, the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services, and KSHA; how a bill becomes a law; how best to connect with legislators (especially during the pandemic); and will include a mock visit with a legislator. This course will prepare you to meet with your legislators in-person at our in-person Legislative Day on Feb. 3. This course will take place via Zoom. You may attend Part 1, Part 2, or both.

Learning Objectives:
Following this session,
1.  Participants will be able to describe the role of the Kansas Dept. of Aging and Disability Services.
2.  Participants will be able to describe how a bill becomes a law.
3.  Participants will be able to locate their state legislators' names and contact information.
4.  Participants will be able to write a letter to their state legislators.
