Want to be a part of an incredibly important conversation while reading a highly informative publication and interacting/networking with other early childhood and school age professionals across the commonwealth?Each week, explore and discuss a chapter of the book, which is part of the teaching social justice series, challenging us all to be better and do better in our work with young children, their families and each other.

Presenter: Ruby Martin
Bio: While working with diverse populations, Ruby Martin, M.Ed has been a leader in early learning and school age programs for over 30 years. Ruby spent time in both non-profit and corporate programs, always focusing on culturally responsive and anti -bias programs for children and their families. She has been conducting professional development for adult learners for over 20 years as a certified instructor. In addition, Ruby teaches several college level courses including early education courses, educational leadership, Director’s Credential, CDA, as well as courses on equity, culture and families. Ruby is versed in Leadership, accreditation and quality standards, opening and operating programs, developing leaders, HR practices, marketing, fund raising and family engagement. She is also excellent at identifying trends within education and leadership and has been infusing mindfulness and trauma-informed practices into her work for over 5 years. Ruby has a thorough understanding of business and strategic planning, budgeting and consults with programs regularly. Currently the Past-Chair of Pennsylvania’s Child Care Association’s Board of Directors, Ruby is passionate about developing diverse communities in every level of leadership and advocating for justice in early learning, on all levels.
Ruby has two grown children, Jesse and Danie, and a Chorkie named Arwen. In her free time, she loves to cook, entertain, paint and can always be found in her backyard flower oasis in downtown York, where she has lived for seven years.
