Description

During this presentation, SLPs from Heartspring will share tips and tricks for training direct care staff and other stakeholders that work with people who use AAC. Attendees will learn about communication plans, identify new ways to train, and how to identify what communication partners need training. They will create a communication plan for a current client and identify who and how to train communication partners.


Learning Objectives
After this session, participants will be able to:
  1. Describe innovative strategies for training direct care staff and other stakeholders involved in supporting individuals who use AAC.
  2. List the essential components of effective communication plans for individuals who use AAC.
  3. Determine appropriate methods and techniques for training communication partners, considering their roles and responsibilities.
