Presenters:
Brian Grattidge, Senior Project Manager, Dudek - Brian Grattidge is an environmental land use planner with over 25 years of experience. As a consultant, Mr. Grattidge has worked extensively in the areas of California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) compliance. His project experience includes a wide range of residential, commercial, industrial, mining, educational facilities, and infrastructure projects. He has assisted clients with airport compatibility planning, development review, environmental permitting, specialized planning studies, and project management. Mr. Grattidge managed the preparation of the 2011 California Airport Land Use Planning Handbook for the California Department of Transportation. Prior to his consulting work, Mr. Grattidge was a member of the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research, where he prepared the 2003 update of the General Plan Guidelines, assisted with the 2003 CEQA Guideline Amendments, contributed to the 2003 draft Environmental Goals and Policy Report, provided CEQA support and technical training, and coordinated state review of environmental documents. Prior to his appointment to the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research, Mr. Grattidge was a planner at the City of Woodland, California. Mr. Grattidge is currently an instructor for the UC San Diego Extended Learning CEQA program, and has been a presenter and lecturer at UC Davis Extension, UC Berkeley Extension, the American Planning Association California Conference, California Association of Environmental Professionals Conference, and the League of California Cities Planners Institute. Mr. Grattidge is a graduate of the University of California at Davis (B.A. 1989, M.A. 1992).
Matthew Morales, Senior Air Resources Specialist, Dudek - Matthew Morales is an air quality specialist with 18 years’ experience preparing technical analyses for numerous planning and environmental projects related to development, natural resource management, and facility expansion. Mr. Morales is trained in air quality, including toxic air contaminants (TACs) and greenhouse gas (GHG), and he is adept at applying air quality models, such as the California Emissions Estimator Model, Caline4, AERSCREEN, AERMOD, and HARP 2, to perform quantitative analyses for National Environmental Policy Act and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) environmental documents, such as environmental impact reports (EIRs), initial studies (ISs), and mitigated negative declarations (MNDs).
Elena Nuno, Senior Air Resources Specialist, Dudek – Elena is an air resources specialist with 20 years of experience in environmental consulting and project management. She provides analysis and documentation for CEQA and NEPA compliance
and project management support for a variety of public and private projects. Her technical specialty is preparing thorough and legally defensible air quality and GHG impact assessments using air quality models, such as the California Emissions Estimator Model (CalEEMod), Caline-4, AERMOD, and MOVES3, that accurately characterize a project’s impacts and provide applicable strategies or mitigation measures to reduce potential impacts. Elena has been involved as an AEP Central Chapter Board member since 2007 and is currently serving as the Chapter Director.
