Moderator: Stephanie Parsons, CreativEnvironment Group
Description
Child care is an important part of community infrastructure that not only supports family success and household self-sufficiency but also local economic development and businesses by creating the conditions for a stable and reliable workforce. Yet, child care facility development faces challenges similar to affordable housing but without the mandates, incentives, and financing sources. This program will present strategies and tools used to facilitate the siting and development of new facilities and how local political will and planning policies can support and encourage development that addresses child care supply gaps.
