Program Description:
The landscape of psychological practice is rapidly evolving, requiring clinicians to navigate complex ethical, legal, and practical challenges. This workshop will explore three critical and emerging areas: (1) ethical and legal considerations in psychological assessment, (2) the role of new technologies in psychological practice, and (3) ethical responsibilities in supervising and mentoring the next generation of psychologists. Participants will gain insight into key ethical dilemmas in assessment, including test data release, cultural and linguistic considerations, and telepsychology. The workshop will also address our evolving understanding and integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into psychological practice, examining its benefits, limitations, and ethical implications. Finally, attendees will explore contemporary issues in clinical supervision, including evolving trainee expectations and risk management strategies.
Learning Objectives:
Identify common ethical and legal issues in psychological assessment.
Evaluate benefits, risks, and ethical concerns related to the use of AI in psychological practice.
