Upholding the ACA Ethical Principles in Everyday Counseling Practice

This training explores the ACA Ethical Principles and their everyday application in counseling. Participants will learn to identify personal biases that challenge ethical decision-making and discover strategies to preserve equitable client treatment. By examining boundaries, conflicts of interest, and real-world ethical dilemmas, attendees will develop actionable insights to uphold professional standards, protect client welfare, and maintain personal well-being. The session offers essential tools for fostering ethically sound and effective counseling relationships.
Learning Objectives:

1. Implement Ethical Principles in Practice Participants will learn practical methods to integrate the five ACA ethical principles into daily client interactions.
2. Identify Personal Conflicts Attendees will recognize how personal beliefs or values can conflict with ethical obligations and learn when referral or consultation is appropriate.
3. Foster Equitable Counselor-Client Relationships Counselors will gain strategies to serve diverse clients equitably, while also maintaining their own well-being and professional boundaries.
4. Develop Strategies for Ethical Dilemmas Participants will explore techniques to address ethical concerns, including conflict of interest, boundary setting, and termination of relationships.
