Presenter Biographies: Nuno Montrod, Director, Prevailing Wages: Nuno Montrond is a Labor Prevailing Wage Specialist with over 19 years of experience in federal wage and hour enforcement, government contracts labor compliance, and prevailing wage requirements. He specializes in advising public- and private-sector clients on compliance with the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) Prevailing Wage and Apprenticeship (PWA) requirements, as well as the Davis-Bacon Act (DBA), Service Contract Act (SCA), and Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Prior to joining BDO, Nuno served as an Assistant District Director with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division, where he played a key role in enforcing complex wage and hour laws and overseeing civil and criminal investigations. His experience includes certified payroll reviews, fringe benefit and overtime analysis, worker classification assessments, and audit support across a wide range of industries, including construction, energy, healthcare, defense contracting, and professional services.
Nuno works closely with clients to develop practical compliance frameworks, mitigate wage and hour risk, and prepare for government audits and inquiries. His background in enforcement provides clients with a proactive, regulator-informed approach to prevailing wage, apprenticeship, and labor standards compliance.
Esther Pujol Rodriguez, Senior Manager, Government Contracts: Esther has extensive experience providing accounting services, internal audit, compliance, process improvement, project management, cost optimization, and risk consulting projects to Fortune 500 companies, small private entities, and nonprofit organizations.
Before this role, Esther served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for several organizations in the government contracting and nonprofit sectors. Currently, she helps BDO customers with financial transparency, efficiency in reporting, effective internal controls and compliance with GovCon regulations including SCA, in addition to implementing and correcting ERP systems.
She is always open to bring world class financial controls to your organization, including regulatory compliance, and efficient usage (full benefit) of your ERP system.
