Details
The Wilderness First Responder program is the ideal medical training for leaders in remote areas including outdoor educators, guides, military, professional search and rescue teams, researchers, and those involved in disaster relief. The curriculum is comprehensive and practical. The WFR is a hands-on, in-depth, 72-hour course involving a comprehensive look at Response and Assessment, Musculoskeletal Injuries, Environmental Emergencies, Survival Skills, Soft Tissue Injuries, and Medical Emergencies. The WFR certification is good for two years and includes CPR. It includes the essential principles and skills required to assess and manage medical problems in isolated and extreme environments for days and weeks if necessary. 

Course will be May 12-20, 2018 
Schedule: May 12-18 8:30am-5pm; May 19 8:30am-10pm; May 20 8:30am-5pm. 
All events will be held at the VCU Rice Rivers Center

Lodging is available at the Inger Rice Lodge on the property for the length of the course. You'll have a bed in a shared dorm room, with access to showers, a kitchen, and common space. There are 2-4 beds per room. Cost for lodging is $135 for the length of the course, check in is Friday, May 11 and checkout is Sunday, May 20. You will need to select this as an "add on" when you register for the course.
