Director of Water and Wastewater - Erwin, TN

Position Description: 
Erwin Utilities, Erwin, Tennessee, a municipal electric, water, wastewater, and fiber broadband system located in northeast Tennessee, is seeking a full time Director of Water and Wastewater to oversee management of its water distribution system and treatment and wastewater collection system and treatment. Duties/Responsibilities: 
Responsibilities include ensuring the integrity of the water distribution system and wastewater collection system and optimizing quality and quantity of water delivered to customers. The position directs and coordinates the execution of a variety of tasks assigned to the construction crews within the Water and Wastewater Departments and performs responsible professional engineering, technical, and administrative work related to the operation, planning, design, construction, maintenance, and inspection of water and wastewater facilities. Other tasks include perform design and preparation of contract documents for design and construction of capital projects; oversight and management of capital construction and maintenance projects; coordination and inspection for construction projects; and assistance in developing long range utility plans and improvements.

Education/Experience/Skills Required: 
Requires graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in civil or sanitary engineering. Current registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Tennessee is required or the ability to obtain registration within one year, along with considerable experience in professional engineering work. Must possess a valid Tennessee Driver License.
