Position Description: 
Provides design, review and technical support during all phases of capital projects including Real Time Controls, wet weather and consent decree projects. Provides construction, final equipment checkout and approval. Coordinates with contractors, consultants and MSD personnel on all projects regarding automation of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and remote telemetry systems. Designs and integrates all facets of in-house automation of SCADA and remote telemetry systems (PLC and HMI programming). Creates reviews and maintains all documentation of the automation systems of SCADA and remote telemetry systems.

Duties/Responsibilities: 
Provides and repairs system integration functions relating to automation projects. Provides system integration functions relating to flood pumping station, pump/lift station and treatment plant telemetry and SCADA systems. Provides hardware and software implementation, modification, documentation, troubleshooting and repair on all automated systems. Provides hardware and software implementation, modification, documentation, troubleshooting and repair on the automated plant process control system. Provides system management functions and programming for the plant information system that produces state required reports. Installs and maintains PC hardware (laptop, desktop, servers, thin client) and all aspects of the controls industrial network (fiber, copper, network routers, switches, etc.). Programs design integration, and monitors for proper operation, and any needed changes, of all sites integrated into the Real Time Control (RTC) system. Supports MSD standard and non-standard applications. Diagnoses hardware/software problems and repairs them as necessary.

Education/Experience/Skills Required: 
Knowledge of electronics, local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN) (fiber, copper, routers, switches, etc),and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Motorola, MOSCAD); knowledge of Allen Bradley software (RSLogix 5000, RSLogix 500, RSView Studio, RSNetworks, FactoryTalk, Siemens S7200 and S7300) and graphic design software (GE Prophicy, I-Fix); knowledge of computers, and associated components; knowledge of instrumentation and automation; knowledge of MSD and ISA design standards; knowledge of NEC electrical code and vendor related specifications; skill in oral and written communication; skill in operating a PC and associated Windows environment software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, etc.); skill in performing PLC and HMI programming; ability to utilize SAP, WorkForce and Hansen; ability to read electrical drawings, P&ID and instrument loop diagrams; ability to resolve problems; ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects; ability to be courteous and helpful under pressure; ability to work effectively under heavy, unpredictable surges in workload; ability to work 24 hour emergency response, various shifts, weekends and mandatory overtime. 

Associate degree Computer Science or a related field; three or more years of related automation controls experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Must be ISA certified or be able to obtain certification within 12 months of eligibility. Must meet job skills assessment requirements. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must have safe work and driving habits. Must have an acceptable and reliable means of being contacted during off-duty hours.

Salary: 
$28.67 - $43.71 Hourly
$59,633.60 - $90,916.80 Annually
