- About the Role: To provide engineering support and project management to wastewater and water treatment operations to include maintaining existing assets and managing capital improvement projects. Provides technical support to operational groups to make process improvements, review and recommend new equipment, assess safety needs, and manage engineering projects within capital and operating budgets. Makes recommendations on methods of plants improvements, developing engineering and labor costs, equipment and material costs, and analyzing system design to support recommendations. Projects include integrating all facets of engineering to include electrical, site work, horizontal and vertical construction. Performs project management duties for consulting and construction contracts for collection/distribution system, pump station, and treatment plant projects. Prepares cost estimates of major construction and maintenance projects. Work will include planning, design, construction, project start-up and closeout of capital projects. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Skills Required:
Physical Requirements:
Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering in Civil, Biosystems, Mechanical, Chemical, or related engineering field from a four-year ABET-accredited college or university
- Strong analytical and time management skills
- Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal, and team skills
- Ability to work independently on projects in a timely manner and direct the work of others
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Requirements:
- Advanced Engineering degree
- Professional Engineer license in Tennessee or FE/EIT certificate
- Three or more (3+) years experience in engineering, preferably with utilities
- Experience in wastewater and water design, plans review, master planning, pump stations, treatment plants, and hydraulic system modeling
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner
- Strong personal computer skills, including CADD, spreadsheet reporting, word processing, presentations, and project management software
Salary:
$67,700.00 - $119,800.00 Annually
