The Stony Brook University Advancement Specialist, Content Marketing position supports the Marketing and Communications team’s mission by developing and managing content that enhances our brand, engages our audience, and supports our mission. This role will play a critical part in increasing awareness, driving engagement, and generating support through compelling storytelling and content distribution across multiple platforms.

The Specialist, Content Marketing will be responsible for developing, executing, and managing a content strategy that aligns with organizational goals. Creating high-quality, engaging content, including website stories, social media posts, email communications, and multimedia assets. Optimizing content for search engines (SEO), and email and social media engagement. They will work with members of the Marketing and Communications, Constituent Experience, and Data Services teams to support Stony Brook University Advancement's goals. Possession of exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills is crucial to be successful in this role.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Three (3) years of full-time experience in content marketing, copywriting, digital marketing and/or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a higher education, non-profit and/or healthcare system. Additional year(s) of full-time experience in content marketing, copywriting, digital marketing and/or related fields. Experience with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress. Knowledge of SEO best practices and content optimization strategies. Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
