Educational Family Picnic and Nature Walk at Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve

10:00 AM - 10:15 AM: Check-In. Park in gravel lot in front of trailhead. Carpooling encouraged!
10:15 AM - 12:45 PM: Brief introduction and trail walk with interpreter Robb Hicks, who will share insights on local flora, fauna, geology, and ecosystem interactions of the Vernal Pools, followed by a human history presentation at the Moreno and Machado Adobe buildings.
12:45 PM - 1:45 PM: Lunch at Adobe picnic area.
1:45 PM - 2:30 PM: Walk/hike back to parking lot.
Please dress in comfortable hiking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing (including sunscreen!) as this event will involve a 4-mile loop, a 300 foot elevation gain, and uneven surfaces. Backpacks encouraged to transport your sack lunch to the picnic area. more info...
