The Circle of Trees Celebration brings the community together at the start of the holiday season. Join your friends and neighbors at Woodmere Art Museum for the annual Circle of Trees Celebration. Enjoy hot chocolate, cider and cookies, music, goodie bags for the kids, and a visit from (shhhhh!) Santa too, who arrives on an antique fire truck. Together we count down to the lighting of the Art Museum and Christmas trees. Kids also have a blast climbing on the hay maze on the front lawn under the lights.
Like most CHCA activities it is free to the public.
Fire Engines, Marching Bands, Antique Cars, Horses, Schools, Santa Claus… and did we mention the Phillie Phanatic?
The CHCA brings Santa to the neighborhood every year in this long-standing Chestnut Hill tradition. Families line Germantown Avenue to wave to the marchers in our Annual Chestnut Hill Community Holiday Parade.
Like most CHCA activities The Chestnut Hill Holiday Parade it is free to the public.
Rob Fleming and Christopher Sohnly are organizing a cleanup morning at Woodward Pines. We'd love for you to join us. We'll be removing some vines and invasives after a tree removal. This spot has been talked about as a possible "mini-forest" location so you can take a look at it while volunteering for this cleanup. You might also spot some of Rob's family being roped in for this fun. Let us know if we can count you in.
Date: Saturday, Dec. 7
Time: 9 am to noon*
Place: Woodward Pines (this is the triangle near Lincoln Drive/Navajo and Cherokee)
You'll know you are there when you see Christopher's truck!
*The CHCA Community Holiday Parade is the same day and starts at 9 am (it's quick); it's okay to do both arriving after the parade concludes at Market at the Fareway. more info...
Find inspiration for your holiday celebrations while experiencing the rich architectural heritage of Chestnut Hill
Philadelphia’s longest running holiday tour! The Holiday season is a time to relive cherished traditions, and for Chestnut Hill, there is no better tradition than spending a day enjoying the Holiday House Tour. Our annual tour features the area’s loveliest historic homes decorated inside and out for the holidays. In recent years the tour included a charming cottage, a stately stone colonial, a three story Italianate Victorian, a second empire twin, and a Norman country house. Attendees have the option of riding our event trolley from stop to stop or visiting at their own pace in this self-guided tour. The tour is popular with both visitors and residents of Chestnut Hill, who come every year to discover a variety of dramatic homes while experiencing our neighborhood’s rich architectural heritage. This event is a major fundraiser for the Chestnut Hill Community Association and helps us provide services to our community throughout the year.
