All sessions will take place from 12:30pm to 2pm EST on Thursdays from February 9th to April 6th, 2023. The program will take place remotely through the use of live interactive webinars over Zoom. The program consists of nine 90-minute sessions. Applicants must register for the entire 9-week program. The training program will offer participating professionals the opportunity to acquire or enhance the competencies, skills and insights necessary to effectively work with children and families in the child welfare system. These individuals have made a significant contribution to our knowledge, understanding and practice in serving abused and neglected children. Our goal is to recognize outstanding African American practitioners, administrators, educators, and researchers that were leaders in the field during the period of the 1970’s to the late 1990’s. This historical lens of child maltreatment will focus on pioneers/leaders across the spectrum of researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and educators who reflect the diversity of this field.
