7/11/2024	Central Florida Chapter Monthly Meeting & Volunteer Event We will be holding our July Members Meeting at the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida – Mercy Kitchen, 3702 Mercy Star Ct Suite 130, Orlando, FL 32808. Our Meeting will start @ 11:45 AM and includes a box lunch (sponsored by Hensel Phelps). Following the meeting, we will look to volunteer from 1PM-4PM for Second Harvest. This is open to members and non-members. If you will be attending the meeting, please reply to Michael Happ, NO LATER THAN June 26^th with your selection from the list below. As for volunteering, please see the below link to register yourself for volunteering in the afternoon. We look forward to this first of a kind event with the DBIA and look to show how the DBIA not only supports our construction community but also our local community. more info...
7/31/2024	Leveraging VDC in Design-Build Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a tool or the model-based technologies that produce a building information model that enables a highly collaborative Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) process throughout a project’s lifecycle. When combined, project teams can take advantage of a forward-thinking environment where the integration of people, process and technology can thrive. The whole team approach inherent in Design-Build is an ideal environment for BIM/VDC to flourish (more than any other project delivery system), especially when you can take advantage of an integrated project team from the outset, creating a platform for success, where all the client’s goals can be embraced early. In addition to highlighting DBIA’s approach to VDC Done Right we’ll also provide real-world examples of how VDC is driving value by enabling the merging of technology and project delivery to provide optimized outcomes for Owners.
