Luncheon Description:
Treating drinking water to remove PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) is not only a technical challenge, but also a public relations challenge as a result of the substantial cost involved. It is also a challenge to maintain the trust of the utility customers with all of the concerns raised in the media regarding these compounds. Participants will gain valuable insights into navigating the complex landscape of PFAS in drinking water. This session aims to shed light on effective communication strategies crucial for securing funding, efficiently managing PFAS-related challenges, and maintaining positive customer relations. Attendees will delve into understanding the intricacies of PFAS issues, exploring ways to secure necessary funds for mitigation efforts, mastering management approaches, and honing communication skills pivotal for engaging with stakeholders, customers, and the broader community affected by PFAS concerns.
