Innovative Approaches to Wastewater Pretreatment

Thursday, June 23, 2022

Luncheon Description:
Managing a Pretreatment Program can be a daunting task. Hear from cities that make lemonade from lemons with innovative approach(es) for accepting wastewater from commercial and industrial facilities in win-win processes. Learn why not all carbon is created equally! Hear sustainable ideas for how wastewater can be used to mutually benefit an industrial generator, the City, and shareholders of both! Transform Pretreatment from daunting to rewarding for all.

Speakers:
Sheri Duren, City of Boulder Utilities, and Scott Caldwell, Colorado Springs Utilities.

Sheri has been with City of Boulder 23 years, mostly in the Pretreatment workgroup, but she spent some time in Planning and Development as well in Wastewater Process Optimization.  Sheri is a leader among the state’s pretreatment programs and has held several offices in the Colorado Industrial Pretreatment Coordinators Association (CIPCA).

Scott is an Environmental Specialist with Colorado Springs Utilities, where he has been working for 6 years following time with the City of Boulder and Metro Water Recovery.  Scott has held several offices in the Colorado Industrial Pretreatment Coordinators Association (CIPCA), and is currently Colorado’s member at large for Region 8 Pretreatment Association (R8PA).
