Profile:
After studying piano from age 9 Greg joined his first band - The Young Brass - at age 14. He began working as a professional musician in 1970 in a variety of jazz, fusion and rock bands, the most notable being "Ssarb", "Thrust" & "Manteca". In 1977 he completed a Bachelor of Music degree majoring in composition from the University of Western Australia and began working in music studios as a session musician, composer, arranger and producer, on such things as radio & television jingles, records, audio-visual sound tracks and film music including the popular TV series "Ship To Shore". Over the years Greg has also worked as music director on many music theatre productions.
In 1980 he was appointed music director of Channel 9 Perth, and in that capacity has composed and orchestrated various TV themes and  other general television music using a variety of ensembles from small groups to 30 piece orchestra.
His services as music director and keyboard player are often called apon by many visiting performing artists both Australian & international, including Barry Humphries, Billy Cobham, Joe Longthorn, John Rowles, Michael Crawford, Peter Allen, The Platters, Rolf Harris & The Supreems.
In 1984 he formed the popular GREG SCHULTZ BAND featuring the cream of Perth's musicians and vocalists. The 11 piece band is much in demand for a wide variety of corporate events & functions at venues throughout WA.
On many occasions Greg is also called apon to work with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, both as a performer (keyboards) and as an orchestrator and copyist.
