Profile:
Composer Margaret Brandman has received wide acclaim for her powerful compositions, characterized by an original tonality, melodic richness and engaging expression.  She has twice been awarded Best Foreign Composition by the Artemis Film Festival (Los Angeles) for her orchestral works FIRESTORM SYMPHONY and SPIRIT VISIONS recorded by the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra for the albums Sensations and Polarities Vol.2 on the Navona Label.  Her catalogue of works includes solo instrumental pieces, chamber works, orchestral works as well as vocal and choral works, composed across a wide range of genres from contemporary classical through to Jazz and Latin-American.  Her music is performed regularly in concert and receives international airplay. Margaret has arranged music for a variety of ensembles and voice. 
In addition to her compositional and arranging work, Margaret Brandman is actively involved in music education, combining her compositional interests with her interest in accelerated learning techniques for music. She has authored and published a large range of music education materials, which include arrangements of popular music for piano,  and has composed much of the music included in her Contemporary Piano Method and accompanying collections of performance pieces. Many of her original works are included in the AMEB syllabus (Australia), the AGMS syllabus (Australia) and the ABRSM Syllabus (UK)
