See all- Trail Maint.-cutting overgrowth w/SURF-Mt. Laguna-camping-Mike Hess BrewingEl Prado Group Campground, Mt Laguna, CA
SDMBA trail maintenance on the Laguna Recreation Area, Noble Canyon Trail and surroundings have been graciously supported by Cal Coast Bicycle for countless years. Let's make the awesome trails around Mt. Laguna more fun!
We will be camping at the El Prado campground from Friday April 19 through Monday morning April 22, 2024. SDMBA will provide meals for volunteers for Saturday breakfast, Saturday dinner, Sunday breakfast, and Sunday lunch.
We will have Mike Hess Brewing beer and we will provide swag to volunteers.
We will be cutting back overgrown brush on a neighboring trail. We will shuttle/ride to the work site on Saturday morning and Sunday morning and work until mealtime and return to the campground for food/recovery.
There is no fee for camping as we are performing volunteer work for the Forest Service. At this point, there is no fee for food as we will be serving cheap, easy to cook food.
We plan to add a trail work training option if there is adequate interest.
Details:
Meet at El Prado campground in the Cleveland National Forest, which the Forest Service will graciously allow us to occupy for the weekend. The campground is off of Sunrise Highway approximately 12.5 miles from the Sunrise Highway exit of the Interstate 8 freeway. We will be tent and car camping. If you have an RV/trailer please contact us or make separate arrangements.
We will have food for Saturday breakfast, Saturday dinner, Sunday breakfast, and Sunday lunch. You will be responsible for your own snacks, other meals, and other necessities.
We will have Mike Hess Brewing adult beverages available.
PLEASE BRING YOUR MOUNTAIN BIKE AS WE WILL RIDE TO THE AREA THAT WE WILL WORK ON.
All tools and training will be provided (after signing a waiver). If you feel ill, please don't come and spread your germs.

We will have Mike Hess Brewing beer and we will provide swag to volunteers.
We will have two separate components to the weekend.
- first group of 10 people will ride to a predetermined worn down existing trail spot and learn the different aspects to trail work and improving the trail.
- second group of 10 people will ride/shuttle to separate trail and cut down the overgrown brush.
We will regroup for dinner and drinks after.
Only sign up for one Meetup event as you cannot be in two places at once. If you sign up and don't show up, that is bad! We are buying food beforehand based on the head count. If you bail on us, we will cry and Brian will get in trouble.
For this Meetup signup, you are signing up to learn the basics of ideal trail maintenance, water management, slope analysis and other topics in the field.

## Details
Trails are starting to get overgrown following this year's rains. We will be doing brushing on trails near the Regents Road trailhead. Exact trails to be determined based on number of people and which trails need help the most. With enough people we can split up and work multiple trails.
We will be walking in to the work site. The furthest spot will be around 1 mile from where we will park.
**Please check back here for any changes!**
WE TAKE YOUR RSVP HERE AS A CONFIRMATION THAT YOU WILL SHOW UP.
