Scholarship Awards Milestone

The LOUISIANA PIPELINERS ASSOCIATION awarded its first 2 scholarships exactly 20 years ago and is happy to announce a major milestone this year; $1 Million in total scholarships awarded.

The Louisiana Pipeliners Association is a non-political and non-profit corporation formed in 1996 for the purpose of promoting all aspects of the pipeline industry in Louisiana. Regular dinner meetings at different locations around the state are planned for the presentation and discussion of appropriate material for the general betterment of the members of the association.

As a means to provide a civic service, the Association has established a Scholarship Fund in order to award grants to eligible college students. Golf Tournaments, Fishing Tournaments and Clay Shoots are used as a major source of raising funds for this purpose.

The Louisiana Pipeliners Association awarded it’s first scholarships in 1998 to two students; Jeremy Smith who is currently a board member and Monique Roberts who is currently serving as President.

Over the last 20+ years we have grown to over 1,000 active members and given out $1M in scholarships to hundreds of students that have gone on to be doctors, scientists, pipeliners, geologists, reporters, federal agents, teachers, nurses, engineers, lawyers, civil servants, soldiers, accountants, authors and many other professions. It all started with a lot of hard work, 24 members, 2 students and $3,000.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported the association over these many years! We are so lucky to have such a great group of dedicated members over the last 20+ years!
