At the recent CTE Works!  A MN Summit on Excellence in Career and Technical Education conference held at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Plymouth MN, Candy Leopold, MN HOSA State Advisor was presented with the Minnesota Outstanding Career and Technical Mentor award.  This award is given to recognize a teacher or educator who has made significant contributions to mentor new career and technical teachers in their respective field and community. Nominated by the Health Sciences teachers of Minnesota, Candy was selected for this award because of her outstanding work in this area. Congratulations Candy!
Guy Finne, longtime MN HOSA Board member and current chair of the Budget-Fundraising Committee was nominated by teachers and faculty from the Minnesota’s Health Occupations Association (HOSA) for the Region III and Minnesota Award of Merit. He was selected because of his strong support for career and technical education and in particular, for health science programs. A dedicated and committed business/industry partner, Guy works as a recruitment advisor in the Human Resources Department with the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. ACTE. Congratulations to Guy!
Other members of MN HOSA participated in the day’s events as well; Board members Mike Mitchell and Sonya McNamara led breakout sessions, Candy, along with two HOSA students, Jayden Lamaire and Mariah Wanless led a breakout session on the Medical Reserve Corps.  Thank you to you all for promoting HOSA and Career and Technical Education!
