Please note: There will be 20-minute Mandatory Orientation the Friday prior to training at 12:00 am MST for each class to go over the new program schedule and assignments, work out any technical issues and some Q & A regarding the course. This is not optional and needs to be taken in account when you register for this training class.

General Information

This program has been updated as of January 21, 2021. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) requires the contractor’s Quality Control Managers to attend the “Construction Quality Management for Contractors” (CQM-C) course and obtain a Certificate of Completion before being allowed to perform their quality control responsibilities outlined in the contract. Certificates of Completion are valid for five years from the date of course completion.


Certification

Certification of contractor’s Quality Control Managers is obtained through successful completion of the CQM-C course. Contractor personnel who meet all other requirements for designation as a Quality Control Manager but have not obtained a CQM-C certificate due to COVID-19 restrictions shall be permitted to serve as Quality Control Managers conditioned upon obtaining a CQM-C certificate within 120 days of USACE lifting current in-person learning restrictions.


Recertification

Recertification of contractor’s Quality Control Managers is obtained through successful completion of the CQM-C course. Contractor personnel who possessed a valid, unexpired, CQM-C certificate on 1 Mar 2020 are required to obtain their recertification within 6-months of USACE lifting current in-person learning restrictions.


Program Description

This program is held VIRTUALLY via ZOOM. This is a 2-day training from 9:30 - 4:00 pm each day. The instructor is Larry J. Smith, PE, CCM who is certified by the Sacramento District CQM Course Manager to present this training. The LIVE online training class uses PowerPoint presentation, workbook exercises with discussion, quizzes, case study exercises, a homework assignment, Pre-Test, & Final Exam. The course offers prospective quality control managers / representatives the opportunity to satisfy the CQM training requirement specified in most Corps and NAVFAC construction contracts and must be taken and passed by any contractor aspiring to do work for us on projects of roughly $1 million or more, within 45 calendar days after contract award.


Requirements for Certification

  • There will be 20-minute Mandatory Orientation 3 business days(normally on Friday) at 11:00 am PST prior to training for each class to go over the new program schedule and assignments, work out any technical issues and some Q & A regarding the course.

  • Participants will be required to print out their own Study Guide Version Issued: 20 Jan 21 along with new PowerPoint presentation that will be issued by AGC San Diego once registration is completed.

  • Participants must be present and attentive at all times during the training with webcams / video turned on. Participants are not allowed to step out to take a phone call or any other business during discussion time. Breaks are included at each hour where personal business can be handled

  • Students must complete and submit to the instructor all in class assignments. A total of 15 quizzes will be given during the time class is in session.

  • Participants must score a minimum of 70% on the closed book, closed note Final Exam for certification. The Final Exam will only be offered one time during this class.


AGC San Diego Payment and Cancellation Policy

By registering for the session you are agreeing to the policies below:

The completion of your registration automatically CONFIRMS your attendance for this class, unless AGC cancels the event or we receive your cancellation notice in writing. 

Cancellation Policy: Cancellation requests must be received in writing at least 3 business days before the training. In those circumstances, registration fees will be refunded, minus a 5% processing fee. Any cancellations/rescheduling recieved 1-3 days prior to class with incur a $50 fee. Cancellation requests received less than 3 business days before training cannot be refunded. The request must be sent in writing via email to agcsdeducation@agcsd.org.

Transfer Policy: On an individually approved basis, registrants who must cancel enrollment due to extenuating circumstances may make one transfer of their registration to a future training session, provided the same course is already scheduled within one year of the prior class date. Any subsequent rescheduling of a class registration after the first occurrence must be requested in writing and may be granted by the AGC Education Department only after evaluation. Requests must be received in writing no later than 3 business days prior to class and delivered to agcsdeducation@agcsd.org. All transfers must be used towards the same class topic and same individual. A denial of transfer will result in refund of payments.

Substitution Policy: Registered attendees who must cancel their participation may request a substitute to attend in their place at any time. The request must be sent in writing by the original registrant to agcsdeducation@agcsd.org before the session begins.

No Show Policy: If registrant(s) elect not to attend, individuals / company will owe the entire course fee and or not be refunded or credited to a future training class.
